After this class, I downloaded Obsidian because I liked the platform’s look and how it uses a folder on my computer. I am trying to find the best way to manage my practicum resources and lesson plans, and this class came at the perfect time. My practicum binder is my primary way to organize everything because I do not want to be using a device in my practicum class. Everything that I will need for my six-week practicum, including observation notes, will be kept in this one binder. All the resources I have collected from my classes are organized using Obsidian. So far, I am enjoying how easy it is to find documents on the platform and my computer’s folder system. My wish for this program is to view and annotate PDF documents in Obsidian similar to Notability.

I enjoyed EdCamp and can envision how it would work in schools. In middle school I did something similar, but with writing. Over a weekend, groups from a few schools in the area rotated around different classrooms. Each room focuses on a different writing style. For example, poetry, fiction, and fractured fairytales. Unlike EdCamp, we could not switch rooms freely. At the end of the weekend, we had the option of signing up to present our work. Everyone’s writing was bound together in a book afterwards. That experience boosted my writing confidence. I think middle school is the most challenging age, and providing them opportunities that give them something to be proud of in front of their peers is powerful.
I am curious how to prepare students for EdCamp, so they are open, receptive, and able to participate in a meaningful way.
